About the Competition
The Centre for Innovation, Intellectual Property and Competition as well as IPR Chair at National Law University Delhi in collaboration with Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry is extremely proud to announce the much anticipated 2nd edition of its prestigious Vidhi Pragati: National IP Moot Court Competition. This competition is designed for participants to increase their advocacy skills, work on contemporary legal issues, and gain comprehensive knowledge of Intellectual Property Laws, its enforcement, and the latest case laws.
The first edition of the competition saw participation from premier law schools throughout the country. In the 2nd edition, this competition continues its mission to provide a premier platform for law students across India to explore cutting-edge questions in intellectual property law. The theme of this edition is “Trademark and Copyright”, and the unique moot proposition will invite participants to deliberate over finer concepts of trademark and copyright in the contemporary world.

The Vidhi Pragati National IP Moot Court Competition, 2026, was organised by the CIIPC IPR Chair, NLU Delhi, in collaboration with the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India from 6–8th February, 2026.
The inaugural ceremony was chaired by Prof. (Dr.) G. S. Bajpai, Vice-Chancellor, NLU Delhi. The dais was also graced by Ms. Simrat Kaur, Director, DPIIT, representing the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT).
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from eminent law schools across the country. Following a rigorous memorial qualifier, 16 teams were shortlisted, culminating in a highly competitive and intellectually stimulating Final Round that showcased exceptional advocacy and research in the field of intellectual property law.

The event concluded with a dignified Valedictory Ceremony, chaired by Prof. (Dr.) Ruhi Paul, Registrar, National Law University Delhi, and graced by Hon’ble Ms. Justice Prathiba M. Singh as the Chief Guest.
The ceremony was further honoured by the presence of Ms. Himani Pande, Additional Secretary, DPIIT, Guest of Honor, and Mr. Eashan Ghosh, IPR Chair Professor, NLU Delhi.
